You can’t fight random bouts of pessimism by forcing yourself into ‘positive thinking’ through repetitive thought. ✨🧠
Forcing yourself to be happy when you’re not, confident when you’re not, or at peace when you’re not is called repression.
The happiness and peace you seek are not somewhere far away from those uncomfortable emotions. They are sitting directly underneath them. 💫
If you've noticed difficulties moving on to a new way of living (and something inside you seems to be holding you back), it is likely unexpressed emotion.
Whether it is fear, anxiety, worry, or sadness, you must explore it, befriend it, and acknowledge it so you can uncover the real positivity shining beneath. 🌿💖
You have to be patient with your own evolution.
You have to be forgiving of your own mistakes.
You have to be conscious that there are plenty of programmed, automatic, and chronic FEELINGS stored in your body that are standing in the way.
When you dare to feel them, you release them… and FEELING is not weakness.
FEELING is BRAVE. 🦁💥
There are two very different kinds of ‘positive people.’ I’m sure you’ve noticed the difference.
The first will swear that they’re so well-trained in optimism, they NEVER get rattled by life’s challenges (even the serious ones). 😐
They speak of their obstacles with detachment, and when you share yours (no matter how deep and complex they are), they try to shift your focus immediately.
The solution they offer always goes something like this: “Stop thinking about that and start thinking about the positive. POSITIVE, POSITIVE, POSITIVE!” 🚫🙃
The second type is very different. Though you know them as fundamentally joyful and optimistic people, they are not always upbeat.
They’ll tell you about their rough day.
They’ll say they cried and will explain exactly what caused it. 😢
They’ll have no fear in sharing that they’re afraid, frustrated, or angry.
The thing that separates them from “negative” people is that they never allow themselves to linger in ANY negative emotion for too long.
They NEVER get stuck in it.
They feel it DEEPLY, and then they RELEASE it after learning whatever they needed from it. 🌊🦋
If you talk to them the very next day, they’ll ALWAYS tell you what they learned:
🔹 “This emotion came from this limiting belief…”
🔹 “This random bout of pessimism came from this broken expectation…”
🔹 “I got some childhood stuff I’m working on, and I know I’ll get through it someday, but I’m not putting a timeline on it.”
They’re not ashamed of their emotions, and they’re not afraid to share them openly.
Before you know it, they’re back to positivity… but it is ORGANIC, HONEST, and DEEP. ☀️🌱
Sometimes, the mantras of “think positive to attract positive” (true as they are) can become unintentionally toxic.
They can lead us to disassociate from our emotions while we force our brains into a positivity that isn’t real. 😵💫
They can cause us to ignore the roots of our limiting beliefs (which are surprisingly easy to untangle once we DARE to see them).
They can fool us into thinking that "we are done doing the work" when all we're doing is learning to ignore the uncomfortable.
They can block our evolution and even regress it—creating a massive wedge between our bodies and our minds.
The purpose is not to FORCE POSITIVITY but to UNBLOCK POSITIVITY. ☀️🌀
First, be honest.
Be angry.
Be frustrated.
Be afraid.
SURRENDER to the truth of what your body is feeling. 🌊
Then, let it pass through you like a wave.
⏳ Don’t set a timeline on it.
🚫 Don’t put a deadline on it.
Just let yourself FEEL until it passes (it will).
It should take a few hours to a few days before the emotion fades, and you can analyze it from a detached perspective. If it lingers, exploring the emotion with a professional might be helpful—there’s zero shame in that. 🤝💙
Once you’re feeling empty (neither positive nor negative), true FAITH is not far behind.
✨ You remember that you trust the universe.
✨ You remember that it wants nothing more than to reward you.
✨ You remember that it has perfect timing, and you feel grateful for how far you’ve come.
Eventually, you notice it:
A BIG FAT SMILE creeping onto your face. 😃🌟
A deluge of joy overtaking every cell in your body.
Your soul coming alive from the ashes of all that had remained unexpressed.
You see your future with new eyes, pull yourself up, and keep going.
That process cannot begin until you burn everything blocking the expression of that ORGANIC POSITIVITY.
Whatever it is, remember that it CAN be released.
Just make sure to acknowledge it so you can start the journey. 💫🚀
